A little someone turns one today.

We got to meet her when she was just 10 days old and for a short time she turned us into a family of 4 - and we didn’t hate it 🥹.

We didn’t know if it would be for days or for forever, and while we would have loved it to be forever, there is perhaps nothing more beautiful than watching your 5yo, your family and your community open their arms without the promise of answers.

This is the road of every foster-respite-adoptive parent we get to champion and is why Home4Good exists in the first place. Because these little ones need all kinds of family, the for-now kind just as much as the forever kind.

So happy birthday sweet girl. We are all better for having loved you, and you have inspired our doors and hearts to remain open to the next you.
