Five months ago, we silently slipped away from this platform and our newsletter. So many difficult and exciting changes happened all at once, we spent all of our energy holding the pieces together. Our last post celebrated Oliver's delivery and install in Breckenridge, CO. We returned to Columbia with intent to pack and move our life to New Haven, CT where I, Miranda, would begin my master's degree at Yale School of Architecture. But then there was this really amazing public art call for a building in Kansas City. There's always a call. Oliver and I agreed he would apply "just to see what happens". The application said they would select a finalist within the week of the deadline. One week passed, then two. You apply to a hundred public art calls to win one. In our minds we had already added this to the declined pile. But then Oliver got a phone call, and we were celebrating, and suddenly all of our plans changed. I would move solo and Oliver would follow after I finished my first set of classes with a moving truck full of the basics. Then he would move permanently with the wood shop after the commission was complete. Have I mentioned yet we bought a house? Because WE BOUGHT A HOUSE IN CONNECTICUT. So here we are, five months later. Oliver completed his first public art sculpture. I completed my first semester at Yale. Oliver is currently driving 18 hours to our home in a 10ft moving truck hauling a 16ft cargo trailer full of our beloved tools. Here's the last dynamic duo photo we snapped in front of this garage. On Sunday we leave for a hard-earned vacation with so much to celebrate and plan. We'll see you in the New Year 🎉

We're excited to finally share Miranda's full install at Artistry KC Apartmentslocated in downtown Kansas City! Last fall, Miranda was invited to create an original concept for the Ride Share Lobby for the new apartment build and eagerly accepted to round out her threshold/doorway series in an appropriate setting.
Miranda is thrilled to bring a burst of color to a space that both welcomes and dispatches its residents each day.

WE'RE HOME!
Last Wednesday, we left for a not-so-short road trip to install Oliver's commission in Breckenridge, CO in (yep, you guessed it) our 1992 Toyota Previa revived from the junkyard once again. The back seats are removed so it's practically a covered truck customized to peddle large art rather than small children. Thankfully, the classic VW vans we saw during the trip made us feel like we were driving a spring chicken. We're used to driving the oldest car in the parking lot.
