LMNL Space

Every story has its sides and I write to protect the people who are connected to LMNL, from staff, artists, students, performers, vendors, et al.
We at LMNL hold with love and regard the artists who, through sacrifices and unstinting passion, share their art here and elsewhere. We endeavor to create a space where you can blossom, feel free to share your creativity and to show you that you’re deeply appreciated. We also hold space for students who come from all walks of life and economic backgrounds. We have a Gratis Program here - where students can take classes free of charge, without questions asked. Because art should not always cost and is a public good. When an artist unilaterally engages in a financial relationship with students without a discussion or agreement of the space where the artist shares, it is necessary for the protection of LMNL’s ethos and community to pursue a discussion and clarification with the artist. We do this to hold everyone in a state of healthy balance. If the pursuance of such clarity puts the artist in a state of misalignment, then we ask the artist to reflect inwardly and not publicly project that onto a space that has held the artist is a state of grace and love. That regard will not change and has not changed.
I, Cathrine Ji, the owner and co-founder, of LMNL is responsible. And I am not perfect but is someone who is striving daily to become human - the best human I can be. LMNL is blameless and was created to be here for all of you and will remain so.
We thank you for bringing your love and support to bear upon this fledgling community space for artists and for those who believe in the healing power of art. Let us mend and not create rifts and strife. The world, tragically, is too full of them already.
In closing, we ask all of you to use this public platform responsibly, with utmost care and caution. Because you can break lives and cause incredible damage and hurt.
