🌸💘 Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month 💘🌸
At Missing Hearts Project, we recognize that not all love feels safe. For many youth, what starts as dating becomes manipulation, control, or exploitation — and far too often, it leads to trafficking.

Our Heart Ribbon stands for truth, visibility, and protection — especially for teens who are often ignored or misunderstood.

✨ Why this matters:
• 1 in 3 U.S. teens experience physical, sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse in a dating relationship (Love Is Respect, 2023).
• Traffickers frequently pose as romantic partners, using emotional abuse and isolation to establish power and dependency — a tactic known as “Romeo pimping” (Polaris Project, 2022).
• LGBTQ+, foster, and runaway youth face the highest risk of both dating violence and trafficking due to marginalization and lack of support (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, 2021).
• Youth in abusive relationships are more likely to experience coercion, threats, and being “sold” or exploited, especially when housing, love, or safety are weaponized.

🎯 What we offer:

• Teen & Youth Survivor Advocacy
• 1:1 Confidential Case Support
• Education on Grooming & Coercion
• Healing-Centered Safety Planning

There are no deadlines. No judgment. Just support grounded in truth. 💘
