Shekolí Katsitsya’ˀ tahts níyúkyats. On^yoteˀ a•ká•niˀí okháleˀ wakenyáht^ niwakiˀtaló•t^
Shekoli (hello)! I’m a proud member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and Turtle Clan. I’m a Haudenosaunee woman who blends contemporary artistry with traditional beadwork and porcupine quillwork. You’ll often find me teaching classes across Wisconsin or co-curating the Native Art Market in Madison—if I’m not chasing after my newest co-creator, my baby Mac.
After earning my Bachelor’s degree, I launched my small business, Moody NDN. What does that mean, you ask? Well, it’s all about embracing the full spectrum of emotions—because being “moody” is part of being human (and definitely part of being indigenous). Around here, laughter, sarcasm, and lovingly roasting your cousins & friends are forms of love—and healing. Humor has always helped our communities carry heavy things a little more lightly.
These days, my art studio also doubles as a nursery. Becoming a mom has shifted the rhythm of my work—but it’s made me even more intentional and connected with my craft (and very, very good at beading or quilling during nap time).
Yawʌ́·ko (thank you) for stopping by to learn about me—I look forward to creating, laughing, and building community with you.
