Live On Nebraska

"From a very young age, Braylee's love for animals was overwhelming in the best way. She instantly took to horses—their grace, power, and every small thing about them—and they became a lifelong joy. Her beautiful long hair and radiant smile could light up any room the moment she walked in. A wonderful daughter with a generous heart, Braylee was always willing to help anyone.
Braylee found her happiest moments outdoors—camping with friends and family, fishing, and lacing up her skates for an afternoon of roller skating. She built many close friendships through 4-H, the 3-G's, and school, where her energy and kindness drew people in. Her love for horses was undeniable. She dreamed of owning a dapple gray—her favorite—and by sixteen she hoped to have her own horse trailer so she could travel to events. She was active in riding lessons and loved competing in barrels, poles, and ranch pleasure. Whenever she had free time, you could find her riding or simply spending quiet time with her horses. Jasper was her first horse, and Angel was her pride and joy.
Braylee was already dreaming big for her future: she wanted to become both a veterinarian and a farrier, caring for animals with skillful hands and a loving heart. She looked forward to traveling to rodeos and competitions, riding hard, cheering on friends, and being part of that community she loved.
We lost Braylee tragically in March 2024, at just 13 years old, and our world fell apart. Yet deep within the pain, there was a glimpse of hope. With the help of Live On Nebraska, her wish to help others was lovingly fulfilled. Through organ donation, Braylee gave life-changing gifts to people in need. I find peace in knowing that Braylee lives on in others through this final, selfless gift—because every life matters.
Our family would have been lost without the unwavering support of Live On Nebraska. Their compassion and care for our family during this extremely difficult time was extraordinary. They were deeply respectful of our feelings, helped us understand every step of the process, and were endlessly patient with every question we asked. They gave us the time and space to be with Braylee so everyone could say their final goodbyes, and they stood by our side until the very end. Although this is a path no one should ever have to navigate, Live On Nebraska and its staff did an outstanding job helping us through it, and we will be forever grateful.
Braylee lived with a bright, wholehearted spirit—full of life, movement, and care for others. Those who knew her will remember the way she made people feel seen and welcome, the laughter she sparked, and the light she carried into every place she went." - Levi McKillip, dad of donor hero, Braylee
