Happy national prairie day from Sustain UNO!! National prairie day is celebrated the first Saturday of June after being established in 2016 by the Missouri Prairie Foundation.

Sustain UNO helped fund a portion of the UNO pocket prairie this spring and we just helped plant some more today!! Planting events are open to all and require no previous knowledge…just the willingness to get some dirt on your hands.

Join SUNO in two green projects to end the semester!

The first is on Sunday, May 11th, at 10 a.m. where we will be starting another pocket prairie space on campus. The second picture shows the space we’ll be planting. Meet near the current pocket prairie by the lower University Village dorms nearest to the library.

The second is on Monday, May 12th, from 10-12:30. This one will be to plant the two UNO gardens. The Mav Food Pantry and DASH will be leading the event.

Thank you to everyone who visited us at the UNO and Omaha Earth Day events! We had so much fun sharing about Sustain UNO and easy sustainable switches to make moving forward. The biodiversity tours were a success!

Our last projects of the semester will be to implement another pocket prairie on campus on Sunday, May 10, at 10 a.m. near the existing UNO pocket prairie. DM us if you’re interested in helping! We will also be planting the two campus community gardens sometime in May.

Happy Earth Month!

On Wednesday we hosted a SUNO game night at the MSLC. We played sustainability bingo created by our very own president and had a blast playing telestrations and photosynthesis! Thank you to all who joined us!!
