Rev up those engines scouts and read this entire message for important derby information!! Tuesday night we will only have a weigh-in for cars at Sunny Slope at 7pm. There will not be den meetings at the school this week. THIS IS NOT A CHECK-IN, but an opportunity for you to have your cars weighed to make sure they are ready to race.

Saturday, January 29 at 10:00am sharp starts race day! Please show up early so that we are all set and ready to race. We will be meeting at a DIFFERENT LOCATION for our derby this year. It will be held at the Keystone Event Center: 7803 Military Ave. ALL CARS MUST BE CHECKED IN ON FRIDAY NIGHT, January 28 starting at 6:30pm, at the Keystone Event Center. If you do not check-in on Friday night your car WILL NOT race! This is very important as the program will be uploaded and we can’t add any cars! Please reach out if you are unable to make the check-in on Friday night.

Raffle prizes and concessions are back for purchase! If you have any items from a business or personal that can be donated toward the raffle, please contact Rebecca Meinke (402-706-5778). Raffle tickets will be 4 for $1. Please be sure to arrive early on race day to purchase raffle tickets and get settled so we can start racing promptly at 10:00. Looking forward to a great season of racing!

Our Spring Overnight is being planned for the Aurora Science Center! Potential dates are Friday, March 11 or Friday, March 25. AOL scouts and families are invited as well. The timing is usually around 6pm on Friday to 9am on Saturday, but more information will come soon!

Scout meetings are back! Hope you all had a fabulous holiday. We will be having den meetings this week at Sunny Slope at our normal 7-8pm time, as well as the rest of the month. Wolves will be virtual this week.

If any scouts are in need of assistance with making pinewood derby cars, please contact Josh Christensen (402-639-5240) or Jon Moreland (402-578-1333). They have offered up their shops. Please give them a call to schedule a time, BEFORE, January 23. Car kits will be available on Tuesday night.

Happy New Year! No meeting this week since the school is still closed for winter break. Our next meeting will be at Sunny Slope on Tuesday, January 11 from 7-8pm. Be sure to work on any homework that the den leaders have assigned. Hope you all are having a great holiday!

There will be two pinewood derby clinic options available to help your scout build their car, if needed. Jon Moreland (402-578-1333) and Josh Christensen (402-639-5240) have offered up their shops.
