Finally broke 100 lbs on my bench press this week and hit a new PR of 110 x 1! Let me tell you, this was a LONG time in the making!

It wasn’t that I wasn’t strong enough, it was that I was letting FEAR dictate my actions. When I worked with a trainer, I was never afraid to go heavier or harder- I didn’t even think twice about it because I literally had someone pushing me to get outside my comfort zone. So why did it take me two years of lifting on my own to finally go heavy on the chest press?

It was fear. Don’t get me wrong, there is a very legitimate fear of dropping the bar on your chest, but why was I hiding behind the fact that I now workout solo and “can’t do it?” Especially when the simple solution is to just ask someone to spot you- which is what I ended up doing.

Why was I letting it dictate my actions for this one lift when I don’t let it dictate actions anywhere else in my life? If I let fear win every time, this page wouldn’t exist, this post wouldn’t exist and I certainly would never have believed in myself enough to walk into the gym that I work at now as a trainer and ask them to hire me.

It never ceases to amaze me what you can do when you learn how to get out of your own way and use that fear to drive you TOWARDS action instead of AWAY from it.

Hey there! With it being the start of a new year (and some new faces to my page), I thought I’d take a moment and introduce myself.

My name is Shea and I’m your trainer and health coach! In the gym, lifting weights is what I love to do, but my PASSION is helping you set goals that are not only attainable, but also align with your specific values, beliefs and priorities.

I want to be your CHAMPION for self-confidence, perseverance, health and self-care. Everyone’s journey is uniquely different, but I promise to be there every step of the way by offering support, accountability, encouragement and of course, helping troubleshoot along the way!

My goal is help you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

I’m a certified personal trainer, certified specialist in fitness nutrition and a GGS-1 certified coach. I love to learn and I’m currently working on my pre and postnatal coaching certification, which I’m really excited about!

When I’m not busy in the gym, my family is my priority. My husband and I have been married for 12 years (working on lucky #13) and we have a 4-yr old son (who loves fitness almost as much as I do) and one naughty (but equally lovable) dog named Moose.
