In Japan, education begins with character before academics.

During the first three years of elementary school, the focus isn’t on grades or exams, but on building empathy, moral values, cooperation, and social responsibility.

In these early years:
• Students aren’t ranked by performance — learning is hands-on and experience-driven.
• They clean their classrooms, serve lunch, and reflect as a group each day.
• They learn how to resolve conflicts, show respect, and support one another.

The belief is simple: strong character creates better learners.

By the time students reach age nine or ten, they’re ready for more demanding academics — grounded in discipline, kindness, and teamwork.

It’s a powerful example of how true education shapes not just bright minds, but good people.
