Music to our ears!

I had the opportunity to attend the signing of HB 2363 here in Washington, something I worked on advancing as part of the Washington Music Therapy Task Force. This bill creates a supervised pathway for music therapy graduates to begin working while their certification and licenses are being obtained, helping reduce workforce gaps and support continuity of care across our state.

Grateful to Rep. Julia Reed for championing this bill, our wonderful lobbyists, and the teams at the American Music Therapy Association, Inc. and Certification Board for Music Therapists for their support throughout the process. As well as the greater music therapy community here in WA who answered the call to support the bill over the last few months.

Proud to be part of this community and this step forward for music therapy in Washington. More work ahead, and I look forward to continuing to help move this field forward.
