Quick trip to the city to take this sample prototype fit for a spin.
Phanto pants: cotton sateen inspired by 60s era OG-107s with a tapered waistband to accommodate luscious booties and sway backs. Buttons & fabric custom dyed.
Vest: dyed cotton canvas, lined with discontinued purple Wrangler flannel.
Buttons: 70s Bitch, Goddess found in my Grandma’s belongings & a photo of my dad c. 1971.
Zipper Ghost, at its soul, is clothing made for people who sit in diners.

Extra bit. While designing these pants, I had a dream about dying them. I could muffled music as I approached my dye pot, when I lifted the lid to see the steamy swirling dye bath, was playing.

The dirty sunsets in LA are something special. The ones not at the beach, but while you’re standing on the hot concrete, exhaust in your face as the rapid bus passes. The two hours it takes for the sun to go down, reflecting off DTLA and you think about your life, how you got here, is there time for a nap before I meet up with Taleen to go to Honey Trap?
