Maxx Yehl’s rise from Portville to the College World Series: In his coach’s words

Portville baseball coach Mike Matz can't remember exactly when he realized Maxx Yehl was different.

But he remembers an eighth grader throwing harder than everyone else on Portville's varsity field.

More than a decade later, that same kid is taking the mound in Omaha as the ace of West Virginia University's first College World Series team.
