CAPES was created because partisan politics and religious indoctrination have no place in public-school classrooms — and school board members should never support them. When agendas like the “History Rocks” initiative, created and championed by groups known to be extremely conservative and based solely in Christian Nationalism, creep into our school districts and curriculum, it’s our kids who pay the price. Public education should teach students HOW to think, not WHAT to think. We hope our friends in Colts Neck will fight to keep their schools grounded in evidence, inclusivity, and critical thinking — not political indoctrination.
