Let's get this out of the way first - this guy is expensive. Around 175 bucks. Feel free to comment about how crazy you think that is. But WHY it is that expensive is a huge benefit: carbide metal. These are extreme pliers for extreme cutting. Piano wire, nickel, tungsten, diode wire, the list goes on. These are hard materials that need cutting edges that can handle the force. Carbide metal cutting edges have a substantially longer service life than conventional cutting edges, so these can handle the strenuous work on a repetitive basis.
Full disclosure - I have never cut anything this hard so I have never needed a tool like this, so yeah, for me, the cost is too much for my toolbox. What about you guys? Do you cut materials like this often? Have you used carbide cutting tools? What do you think?
