The Nutty Butter Reese’s Chocolate Ruckus has officially returned! Just head to the website and choose your level of self-control… 🤭

POV: You’re a small business owner and your customers keep you humble every single Thursday. 😂 Last year this week we did $659… this year $465. Time to put my detective hat on and figure out what changed. Stay tuned… the waffle taco investigation continues. 🕵🏽‍♀️🌮🍦

Two markets. Two completely different experiences. One goal.

Running a small business isn’t just about baking, it’s loading the car, setting up alone, paying booth fees, adapting to challenges, and showing up week after week, even when things don’t go as planned.

This week I learned a few lessons, met some amazing people, and took another step toward growing Aujané’s Sweets. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth, supported my business, shared a kind word, or simply cheered me on. It means more than you know.

Next week we’re bringing decorated sugar cookies to both markets. See you there! ❤️

Yesterday I attended my friend’s Father’s Day event and my heart hurt for her. She planned, prepared, bought supplies, and had over 20 reservations… but only one person showed up.

As a fellow small business owner, I know how much courage it takes to keep showing up when things don’t go as planned. Her nonprofit, Paint & Paws LLC, combines creativity, community, and therapy dogs to create a truly unique experience. Sometimes great ideas just need a little more visibility.

If you’re local, consider checking out one of her future events and showing some love. ❤️

A little slower at the Oceanside Sunset Market Thursday night, but that’s the reality of markets every week is different.

We finished the night with $273 in sales across 25 transactions and collected $25.80 in tips. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported my small business. ❤️

In my opinion, the combination of overcast weather and the World Cup likely kept some people at home or gathered around TVs at local restaurants and bars. I noticed several fellow vendors packing up with quite a bit of inventory left as well, so it definitely felt like a lighter traffic night overall.

Even on slower nights, it’s always interesting to watch the flow of the market. My busiest hours were still between 7 PM and 9 PM, proving that dessert after dinner is still a thing. 😋

Not every market is a record-breaking night, but every market is an opportunity to meet new customers, connect with the community, and keep building Aujané’s Sweets one customer at a time.

Have you ever pulled up to a restaurant and found a Health Department closure notice on the front door? 🚨

That happened to me recently and it sent me down a rabbit hole researching restaurant inspections across San Diego County.

What I discovered surprised me. Food safety issues can happen anywhere—from local mom-and-pop restaurants to high-end establishments.

This post is not about bashing any business. It’s about educating consumers and showing you how to check inspection reports, violations, closures, and reopening approvals for yourself.

Before your next meal out, take 30 seconds and look it up. The information is public, and it could help you make a more informed decision about where you eat.

Trust, but verify. 🍽️

7 dozen cookies. Less than 24 hours. 🍪✨

The time frame was only possible because the designs were simple, elegant, and limited to just a few colors. Bonus surprise: my customer was a first-time customer, but we actually went to El Camino High School together!

Watch the timestamps to see how this entire order came together.💕
