"One of my children has an eating disorder.

After trying for years to help on our own, we decided to take a big step and send (them) to a facility for professional help. This was a really big deal, as the facility is many states away and the program could have lasted many months ... It was an emotional decision for us as parents and (my child). Financially, this was a huge investment as well, upwards of $40,000. But, we felt it was necessary.

The day came to travel and leave (my child) in the new temporary home, praying it would help. One week later, I got a call from the facility to come pick (my child) up, as they claimed they would not be able to help. Mind you, we had gone through SO MANY STEPS to admit my child, so I was shocked to get this call. I was furious, too, and very confused. My child was picked up but I was informed I'd still be financially responsible to pay for the entire program.

I called my provider law firm here in CA. I can't even remember my first call with the lawyers because I was so upset, but I know my provider firm had to contact the firm in GA, which is the state this facility is located, and there was a lot of back-and-forth to insure they had all the info.

I JUST heard back from the (provider law firm in that state) and the facility DROPPED EVERYTHING. I owe nothing more. I am so ecstatically happy to not have to deal with this financial burden.

Still have a goal to get the necessary help for (my child) but not having to worry about $40,000 is a huge relief."
