The meaning behind this shirt holds a very special place in my heart, and here's why. One of my best friends is a police officer, not just any police officer, but the kind who has won multiple life-saving awards and has created a charity (Ladies in Blue) that empowers women through fashion. She is an officer who puts her heart and soul into her work. It is not just a job to her, but rather a passion for helping other people. She has always been an inspiration to me in how she can be such a badass and so sincere and empathetic at the same time.

One day we were having a conversation after a really hard day she'd had, and she said, "I just want to be someone's light on their darkest days." She was referring to how she has the ability to show up for victims when they are going through potentially the hardest/most traumatic time in their lives.

I thought that was the most beautiful/inspiring saying, so I jotted it down in my notes so I would never forget it. Fast forward three years later - I was trying to think of inspirational sayings that had meaning to me, and that saying Michel Wilson had said came to my mind, and I thought it would be perfect for a shirt.
