Stand Placement for Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day Monday. The lifeguard stands are farther apart this time of the year. Stand locations may change daily and the distance between stands may increase to more than 800 yards (1/2 mile) between stands. We strongly encourage all beach patrons to restrict any beach or water related activities to times and locations where beach patrol personnel are on duty, never swim alone, always stay within the limits of their ability and never rely on a flotation device. To make sure we end our season and yours safely, vacationers and locals can help the guards and themselves by making the extra effort to only swim in front of a lifeguard.
