Fractured Prune Donuts Ocean City NJ was named after a real person 😮🍩

The story goes back to the late 1800s, when a woman named Prunella Shriek owned much of the land in what is now Ocean City, Maryland. Despite being in her seventies, she regularly competed against men in sports like ice skating, skiing, tennis, and even ping pong 👏

Because she often came back from competitions with bumps, bruises, crutches, or a wheelchair, locals affectionately nicknamed her “Fractured Prunella” ❤️

Years later, when founder Tom Parshall was looking for a unique name for his new business, he came across her story and was inspired to call it Fractured Prune.

We'd say the name is just about as unique (and wonderful!) as the donuts themselves 😍🍩
