HURRICANE TEK TIPS
• Unplug all electronic equipment from the power. Surge Protectors do not protect against lightning strikes.
• Your Modem/Router needs to be fully unplugged from either the Coax cable or phone line to protect it from surges. This is the most common reason for no internet after a storm, and there will be thousands of people trying to get theirs exchanged so unplugging it will prevent those problems.
• Make sure your cell phones are fully charged before the storm arrives and put your cell phone in a “Low Power” mode to extend battery life.
• The rule of thumb is, any cable plugged into the wall should be unplugged. That is the best way to protect your equipment.
