Did you know? In 2020, MCHD created the Diabetes Consortium to bring FREE diabetes education to our community!

This incredible partnership includes Elder Options, Heart of Florida Health Care, AdventHealth, Florida Department of Health, UF IFAS, Transitions Life Center, Marion County Public Library System, and One Health Center, all working together to offer the Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP).

DEEP is available throughout Marion County to help people living with diabetes or prediabetes gain the skills and confidence to manage their health.

We've partnered with GatorCPR to bring free Hands-Only CPR training to Marion County businesses and organizations. All you need is a minimum of 10 participants and we'll cover the cost.

The Strong People Living Well class kicked off March 10 at One Health!

Participants received a free biometric screening courtesy of AdventHealth and complete a required fitness test at the start of the program.

After 12 weeks of education and physical fitness programming, both tests are then repeated to measure each participant’s health and fitness progress so they can see real results from their hard work!
