Their presence improves student outcomes, strengthens trust with families, and expands what is possible in classrooms. Yet across the country, too many Black educators are leaving the profession despite their proven impact.

Together, we will explore the history and current realities shaping Black teachers’ experiences, assess hiring and retention practices, and identify concrete steps to create conditions where Black teachers are valued and sustained.
