Here's something we don't say enough - horse owners can do a lot more than they think.

Temperature, pulse, and respiration are the first three things we check when we arrive at a farm call. And you can check all three yourself before we even get there.

If your horse's temperature is over 101.5°F, pulse is over 45 beats per minute, or respiration is over 25 breaths per minute - that's when you pick up the phone. 🩺

Check these regularly so you know what's normal for your horse specifically. Every horse sits slightly differently within these ranges - and knowing your horse's baseline is one of the most valuable things you can do as an owner.

When something's off, you'll catch it faster. And faster always means better options. 💙
