Cosmikali Ritual Tattoo
07/04/2026
I love this trend of people looking back at how far they’ve come in their journey.
The road is long, not just in tattooing, but in life.
Especially nowadays, we often want immediate results, immediate gratification, immediate progress, immediate satisfaction, and perfection.
But that’s not how life works… expertise comes with countless hours of practice and dedication. Mastery comes with years and years of sacrifice and focus and discipline. Perseverance is key.
I feel that right now in my life I’m at the bottom rung of the next level. I just bought a tattoo shop, I’m 12 years into tattooing, I have my first apprentice. And that’s just professionally. I’m not progressing as well or as in many other areas of my life.
I feel like I’m running after everything. I am a scatterbrain, I’m chaotic, and I see the shortcomings and flaws and imperfections of everything I do… I’m always striving to be better and I feel like I’m always falling short.
But the truth is, you can be a light and a beacon for others even when you’re struggling.
You can seem like you are successful and confident, even when you feel behind and like you are drowning in a big ocean.
Just do your best, just stay humble. Remember that the road is long and that the destination is only death at the end. and beyond that we truly don’t even know.

It’s really been a whirlwind…
As we approach six months since I bought Old Crow Tattoo, I’m reflecting on all the physical and mental work that has been done to get where we are. And I’m so grateful to see where we’re going…
It’s not easy to take on something that was already created, there is a strong reputation to uphold that I deeply value and that I want to honor. There are also some things I’d like to let go.
And now, as the original founder told me, no need to look back in the rearview mirror. Full speed ahead.
I’m the captain of the ship now and I’m grateful to be sailing along with my crewmates.
There’s been a lot to overcome and my intention is to remain in integrity and humility, and to send peace and healing out into the world, especially to those who need it most.
Thank you to the resident and guest artists who make and have made Old Crow what it is. And thank you to the clients who trust us, new and old.
We look forward to curating a healthy and happy space to create art together in the heart of Berkeley for years to come.
