🧑‍🎓 The approval of education governance reform is a monumental victory for California's students. 🙌

For over a century, split leadership and blurred responsibility in California’s education system have made it difficult for students to get quick and effective support when they need it. Now, after last night's vote, we can finally move forward with a sensible and effective system that helps schools deliver results for their students. 👩‍🎓 👨‍🎓

Earlier this year, Children Now President Ted Lempert addressed California's leaders on the vital importance of education governance reform. We commend Governor Gavin Newsom for his leadership in making this much needed change a reality, and the California legislature for yesterday's pivotal vote. We now look forward to working to ensure effective implementation of this governance change and using it as a building block to make numerous other improvements that will put California students in the best position to thrive. 💪
