cinnamon + honey šŸÆ Woah!—For more than 105 days this year, I have thrived without consuming any deep fried foods, nor any bread, rice, corn, or tortillas.

At this point, I don’t have all that many cravings for any of it. My body is settling quite nicely into the habit of simply avoiding them.

However, at the end of the first 75 days I hadn’t quite shaken the cinnamon sugar craving.

The morning of the 76th day this year, I sped as fast as I could to after dropping off OG…But I was too late.

They were ALL out of apple fritters!

I had held off my craving for months and couldn’t wait any longer. So I ended up ā€œsettlingā€ on the next best thing still available, a cinnamon roll and a cinnamon twist.

I couldn’t decide on just one.

I walked next door with bag in hand eager to grab a cup of coffee before heading to the office.

Embarrassment set in as soon as I heard my name being called…

I had already consumed EVERY single bite of the deep fried cinnamon sugary dough in the short moments it took for my drink to be made.

I was covered in sugar particles.

They tumbled all over the floor as soon as I stood up to grab my drink.

Interestingly enough, 30 days further down the Journey, it’s a completely different story.

As I complete of the Program, I’m not planning on binging any indulgences. I plan to keep my chosen diet on track for the most part, say 90% of the time.

One morning and I were having brunch at , and the cinnamon + honey šŸÆ latte caught my eye. I jumped at the opportunity to try something new.

From the first sip, I fell in love. 🄰 This was likely due to my strong connection to cinnamon sugar bread.

What’s great is it doesn’t have any sugar, artificial sweeteners, or bread products, and isn’t deep fried!

In my estimation it’s much healthier. It is now what I look forward to in the mornings, without feeling as guilty, bloated or embarrassed.

PRO TIPS:

• Don’t breathe in the cinnamon powder.

• Order matters (Mix the local honey in first; then add cinnamon powder; then add the frothed milk/half & half; then add another dash of cinnamon powder on top)

2022: how it started (swipe—>) how it ended… I’m eternally grateful for this team of dedicated professionals helping me navigate unprecedented growth .

We had positive growth in all areas of our practice (business & estate planning + probate & pre-litigation services).

This past summer, we made the tough decision to downsize our litigation docket down to zero, and in Q4 saw a sizable uptick in our probate court docket.

We onboarded two new team members, and both have proven themselves extremely valuable to the firm’s trajectory & growth.

We moved our headquarters down the street and hosted 4 interns this summer.

I’m confident we have finally laid a strong foundation of understanding & processes to help 3X the families & business owners in 2023.

For the first time since I founded the firm, we have a full calendar of business & estate planning sessions scheduled in the month of January.

We still have seats available at our upcoming Wisdom Workshops (go to winewills.com & whiskeywills.com to RSVP)!

Do Difficult Things—for OG that’s, lifting two empty milk jugs while running around in socks… or walking down our sloped concrete driveway/on the prickly grass and multiple leveled surfaces out back.

For me, it’s walking miles in a torrential down pour wearing a weighted vest while pushing a stroller (with OG having a blast underneath) and listening to a podcast without headphones; or…

balancing OG’s freedom to fall down & explore this world of ours—with—keeping her disciplined & safe (from face planting on the asphalt, as she so wanted to do this morning when I got her out her car seat).

Within the boundaries of safety & freedom, I want her to understand that attempting difficult things is worthwhile and common nature to our daily lives.

One thing is for certain, the Weygandt’s I know are stubborn & tough. I’d like to think I’m no exception but I’ve gotten soft (it’s been particularly hard for me to turn down whiskey 🄃 or delicious cinnamon rolls lately dealing with the positive growing pains at the firm & balancing family life) so I’m doing again.

For 2023, I am focusing on being mentally tough & more disciplined moving forward for the overall benefit to my health & happiness over the long haul.

When we fall down—we get up. We don’t cry or make a big deal about it. We don’t quit. We try again & we grow. We don’t back down when adversity comes our way. We fight another day.

Now, we might observe some frustration, sadness & tears coming from OG. But we aren’t going to feed into the unnecessary fear in her mind or create an anxiety monster, which I’ve seen some anxious helicopter parents project into their children.

News flash, this girl is sweet & spicy—kinda like my favorite beef jerky. Good news: She’s as tough & adventurous as they come. Bad news (for at least the short term): her apple didn’t fall very far from the stubborn tree. And I’ve met my match. I need all the help I can to win the patience lottery.
