“🧠⚡ HILLS I WOULD DIE ON AS AN INTEGRATIVE NEUROLOGIST

After years of treating patients with neurologic disease, studying the science of lifestyle medicine, and navigating my own health journey, these are beliefs that have only become stronger over time:

🌬️ If breathwork could be patented, it would be a billion-dollar drug.
🥗 You can’t out-supplement a poor diet and lifestyle.
😴 Sleep is not a luxury—it’s brain maintenance.
🚶‍♀️ Movement is medicine. It may be the closest thing we have to a “”polypill.””
🤝 Loneliness is one of the most underappreciated threats to brain health.
🔥 Chronic inflammation is gasoline on the fire of nearly every chronic neurologic disease.
🧬 Your daily habits matter far more than your genetics.

The most powerful interventions for protecting your brain often aren’t found in a prescription bottle—they’re found in the choices you make every single day.

Which one resonates with you the most? 👇

“These are a few of the truths I’ve come to believe after years of practicing neurology, studying functional medicine, and helping patients uncover the root causes of chronic disease. 🧠🌱

The brain doesn’t exist in isolation.

It’s constantly communicating with your gut, immune system, hormones, and the environment around you.

That’s why I believe:
✨ Food is information.
✨ The microbiome matters.
✨ Symptoms are often the final chapter of a story that started years earlier.
✨ Your daily habits can be more powerful than your genetics.

We need to stop asking, “”What disease do I have?””

And start asking, “”What is my body trying to tell me?””

Which of these hills would you die on? 👇

“If you have brain fog, your THYROID may be getting overlooked. 🤔

Many doctors only check a TSH level and consider everything normal if it’s inside the reference range.

But thyroid health is more complex than that. 🤔

And the reference range for TSH is far too broad. ❌

It should be closer to 0.5-2 - not up to 4.5 or even 5 by some labs. ✅

I and most doctors sadly are not taught how to adequately interpret thyroid function testing. ❌

A comprehensive thyroid evaluation includes:
✨ TSH - and adequate levels are 0.5-2
✨ Free T4
✨ Free T3
✨ Thyroid antibodies.

If you’re struggling with brain fog, fatigue, low motivation, constipation, hair loss, or weight changes, don’t assume it’s just aging, stress, or all in your head.

I’ve helped many people optimize their thyroid function and feel normal again. 🙂

And I can speak from personal experience. After chemotherapy, my Hashimoto’s flared, and it took quite some time for me to settle on a stable dose of medication.

I struggled with one symptom more than anything else: BRAIN FOG. 😶‍🌫️

In my case, I didn’t truly feel like myself again until my TSH was below 2. And I found I struggled to keep my free T3 levels up, so I take a medicine to help with that as well.

If you have been told your thyroid testing is normal but your TSH is above 2, ask more questions, get a full thyroid panel.

Consider working with an doctor trained in integrative or functional medicine to help optimize your thyroid health.

“Researchers turned smartphones into “”dumb phones”” for 2 weeks. What happened next shocked them 😳

Researchers blocked internet access on smartphones for just 14 days.
✅ Calls and texts still worked.
❌ But constant scrolling was blocked.

❌ No social media.
❌ No news feeds.
❌ No endless scrolling.
❌ No internet in your pocket.

Within 2 weeks:
🙌 Depression went down
🙌 Anxiety went down
🙌 Well-being improved
🙌 Attention improved

The improvement in depression symptoms was larger than the average effect reported in several antidepressant studies.
Meaning the effect worked BETTER than pharmaceutical antidepressants! 🙌

Why?
More real-world interaction
Less distraction
Better focus
Less comparison
Less information overload

Your brain wasn’t designed to consume the world’s information 24/7.

Try this for 2 weeks:
✅ Remove social media.
✅ Only use your phone for calls and texts.
✅ Notice what changes.

Your brain and your mood will thank you!
