Congratulations to Karl Dubuisson, dietary aide in the Food and Nutrition Department, for receiving the Richard L. Kohlhausen Community Champion Award, which highlights how our staff embodies our core values of compassion and service.

Karl’s commitment to giving back to the community has an extensive reach: from leading a social media campaign to support black-owned businesses in Rockland County to organizing a water drive for Flint, Michigan, during the water crisis; Karl’s willingness to show up for others has no geographic limit. Most notably, Karl began an Annual Christmas Toy Drive in his hometown of Nyack in 2013. This past Christmas in 2025, Karl sourced over 300 toys; 10 boxes of these donations came from his colleagues at Montefiore Nyack Hospital.

Thank you, Karl, for your ongoing generosity and for exemplifying our commitment to putting others' well-being, happiness, and safety first. Your actions inspire us all to contribute positively to our community!
