Fun Facts about Labor Day which is celebrated the first Monday of September each year:
New York started the ball rolling in 1882 but Oregon was the first state to make LD a holiday in 1887. It became a Federal Holiday in 1894 thanks to Pres. Grover Cleveland.
LD is the "official" end of hot dog season. Per the Natl Hot Dog & Sausage Council americans eat more than 7 billion hotdogs between Memorial Day and LD. As the unofficial end of summer, it's a great time to celebrate with a family barbecue!!
PS: Stores say that wearing white after LD is past history...so feel free!
