A large egg contains only 70 calories and 5 grams of fat. Egg protein has just the right mix of essential amino acids needed by humans to build tissues. It is second only to mother's milk for human nutrition. Eggs in stock now! This weekend only by 2 dozen get one dozen free! Come get yours today at the self serve stand! .

A few times it has been mentioned that $3 for a dozen eggs is a bit high. I cannot disagree. I also cannot lie, nor choose to do so, about the fact that you can buy eggs from the store for about $.90 a dozen.

So, why are your prices so high?

Well, I have 8 reasons plus some:
1) Feisty
2) Greedy
3) The Brahma trio
4) Houdini
5) Lacey
6) Firefly
7) Hawkeye
😎 Pepper

When you get your cheap eggs from the store, you are getting eggs from chickens who have not seen the light of day. They live in their filth, watch their neighbors die, live in a constant fear of when their time will come. They are locked in small cages and are never allowed to leave. ☹️

What about cage free?🤔

So, these egg companies take away the cages, score for them because they don't have to pay 💲💲💲 for them. Then they mark up the price and market it as cage free (which is not a lie) and a healthier option. They don't tell you that they stuff 20 to 30 thousand birds into a barn about the size of a foot ball field. They don't tell you that the chickens have no room to move, and again left to watch their friends die next to them from disease due to filthy conditions. They never see the light of day, and are never let outside. 😢

Okay, but free range? You cannot tell me that they are not healthy.

Free range is a wonderful idea. The laws state that the chickens must have access to the out doors. Not surprising though, they don't express the quality (size, light, grass and the likes) or length of time in which the chickens need to be out there. So, we take the cage free, football field sized barn with one small spot that 20 to 30 thousand birds are to go in and out of. It's not going to happen. Then the cycle begins again. Chickens left to die and have their friends who are sick and dying. Here you are now, still paying $5.00 for 12 eggs at Walmart, with the false impression that you are doing good for these poor animals. ☹️😢😭

My chickens:
1) Favorite fruit is watermelon 🍉
2) Love to lay their eggs in the same nesting box every time, the last nesting box to the left of the coop 🥚
3) Love laying in the sun ☀️
4) Love dust bathing
5) Have their own personalities that make you laugh with happiness 😂
6) Come running to see me every time I go outside to say "Hi" (mostly because they know I have treats)🍇🥦
7) Sing a song of pride every time they lay an egg🎵
😎 Make me understand there is more to life than what we see 👁️🌎

Plus some:
My eggs being sold are at a store price, but not a big box store, a family owned store👨‍👨‍👦‍👦. They need to pay their bills🧾, they need to feed their stomachs🥚, they need to keep pushing to make their dream a reality. I genuinely believe if my chickens knew the difference they make by providing eggs and allowing me to sell them, they would be okay with it. ♥️

This all said, times are hard☹️, which is part of the reason I have chickens. However, my chickens and I don't wanna see people go hungry. Borderline Crazy or not, we wanna help. If you genuinely need eggs and money is tight, message me (noone needs to know), we can figure it out. Just know that the money I make goes right back to the chicken fund so they can continue to live happily and healthy. ♥️☺️🐔

Last note:
The egg color doesn't determine the quality of the egg. It's the health of the chicken, and to some extent the intention of the chicken tender (caffeinated chicken tender if I am drinking coffee😂). If you put in the love, you get it back.
