Chasing Charm

Here it is folks, the first project of 2025 completed. This has been sitting with us since the summer of last year and after 20+ hours of work it took to finish its COMPLETE! After scrubbing it down and then getting the old finish off I finally decided to glam it up. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I still have yet to find that flavor. So, a big thanks to my husband for the encouragement and support he unwaveringly continues to gift me to follow my hobby.
Measures 65 inches tall 35 1/2 inches wide and 15 1/2 inches deep . It’s available for purchase.
Here is a throwback on a project my sister and I worked on together during one of her weeklong visits. We squeezed it in between runs to the beach and some time in with family.
If there is one thing you must know about my sister is that she has a classy and timeless sense of style throughout her home so I wanted her to choose her color (as I would have likely chose a very wild color so she couldn’t help but think of me anytime she looked at it). 😂
We prepped the piece really well and filled in the holes from the previous hardware as she wasn’t keen on keeping the original pulls. What a great decision she made! It came out gorgeous!
The last photo is a recent one of it in her home (as I’ve only been asking for 2 years for a pic 🤣)
Thanks sis! Love you 😘

Update: SOLD! A big thank you to Miss Jenna who took this beauty home today! 😊
It’s rare to find pieces that are in good shape AND the original working keys. Here is the sister to the secretary desk below. It’s a blend of several Annie Sloan paints in several coatings over her and finished with sealer. The colors are eye-catching in person and will be a delight for the person who gets to take her home. I will admit that it was a bit of work in matching the trim and decorative pieces on the glass front doors but it was totally worth it in the end. Don’t you agree? (The BEFORE photos are in the posting below)

Ok, it’s bad. Like too many projects going at one time kinda bad. 😂 I promise to get them up for you to see once I get some of these finished and can get pictures of them on our NEW staging wall!
In the meantime, here is another one that has lovingly made its way into its new home. I found it at one of my favorite thrift stores. Made of solid wood but those red wood tones made my conscious whisper “paint me” and so I listened. The top was sanded down revealing the wood grain underneath that was given a light white wash and the frame was painted with a chalk paint. It was more of an afterthought for in adding some IOD seashell moulds but gave the entry table it’s own little flair. The last part was sealing it up, too with clear coat and the body with AS clear wax.
Perfecto! Even got the pic of it set up in its new space.
