“I started dancing at The Dance Factory in 2003, we were in a little building downtown and I remember loving all the leotards and skirts on display in the front windows. I was nervous starting, and my first recital I don’t think I even looked up from the ground, I kept with it though and fell in love, I quit soccer, softball and volleyball so I could focus more on dance. I spent my childhood and teenage years in the studio, growing up there. I have so many memories and stories and I’m glad I got the chance to be taught by Becky, Barb and all the wonderful assistants thru the years. I work with children now and I love being able to give the ones who are taking dance classes tips and pointers to help progress their skill and maybe even surprise their teachers a little.”

“I started dance when I was 4 years old and have been dancing for the last 8 years. I have loved every single teacher at the Dance Factory and have learned to have more confidence in myself. I have met great friends that have been with me in every class over the years. I loved recital every year and seeing the beautiful costumes. Thank you for all of your love and support.”

“I started at the Dance Factory in 2002. Becky really gave me confidence and believed in me as a dancer. I danced in college a little bit but really got busy with life and out dance away until Starstruck Dance Academy(where my son was attending classes) was looking for teachers. Thanks to the foundational training I had a DFNP, it reignited that passion I hadn’t felt in a long time. I am forever grateful to Becky and everything she taught me.”

“I danced at The Dance Factory from 5th grade through about 8th grade, and during that time, I was lucky enough not only to take many classes but also to teach some myself. The Dance Factory was more than a studio—it was a place where I could truly be happy, even through some of the hardest times in my life. It taught me resilience, kindness, and how to accept criticism with an open heart and a light spirit. Even after moving on and continuing to dance elsewhere, the lessons I learned and the sense of community I felt there have always stayed with me. I’m so grateful they’re sharing dancers’ stories, and it means so much to be part of this reflection and celebration. Thank you, Dance Factory North Platte—you helped shape who I am today. Thank you, Miss Barb and Miss Becky.

“From opening day when I was 5, until the time I graduated at 17! I spent my entire childhood at the Dance Factory. It was an honor to be in the first senior class that started with Miss Becky 🥹💔 The day I got my pointe shoes and the day I got the pointe solo are some of my favorite memories! 🩷🩰”

“Starting dance at just four years old shaped who I am today. What began as a tiny dancer’s dream turned into a passion, a purpose, and a path that led me to my middle school dance team. I’m so grateful for the friendships I’ve built, the memories I’ve made, and the way dance continues to bring joy into my life.”
