ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENT 📣🐶 Yuqi has found her pack!

Rescued from Ridglan Farms in May, Yuqi’s life has changed in just a few short weeks. After spending the first six years of her life in a small cage, where she was forced to have litter after litter of puppies who were sold into animal testing, she finally gets to experience what every dog deserves: safety, comfort, and love.

Even better, she’s settling into her new home alongside her two new fursiblings, Ripley and SoMi. Judging by these photos, we’d say she’s already embracing her new life of freedom.

We couldn’t be happier for Yuqi as she begins this next chapter—one filled with sunny naps, treats, walks, toys, and a family who loves her unconditionally. 🧸💛

We have some incredibly heartbreaking news. One of our beloved beagles rescued from Ridglan Farms has passed away. 🐶💔

Shortly after arriving at her foster home, Fig began experiencing severe neurological episodes. She was rushed into urgent care, where vets suspected a brain mass. Despite extensive treatment, her condition continued to decline. With no response to medical intervention, the heartbreaking decision was made to let her go peacefully with her foster family by her side.

The vet believed this was a pre-existing condition that had likely gone untreated for some time. It’s impossible to know exactly how long Fig had been suffering, but one thing is painfully clear: if she had been freed sooner, she may have had the chance to receive the medical care she desperately needed. Instead, after nearly a decade of exploitation, her freedom came only in the final weeks of her life.

Fig spent years at Ridglan being used solely for breeding. Confined to a small cage, she was forced to have litters of puppies sold into animal testing. She was treated like a piece of equipment instead of the loving, gentle dog she always was.

The greatest tragedy is that Fig was robbed of the chance to truly live. She should’ve had years to run through grass, nap in the sun, play with other dogs, and know what it meant to be cherished. Instead, she experienced freedom for only a few weeks.

This is what her foster family shared about their time with sweet Fig:

“Fig was such a special girl. Despite everything she’d been through, she was still so curious and full of joy. Her absolute favorite place to be was in the backyard (after 7 years in captivity, who could blame her?). She loved to zoomie with her foster sisters—running through the garden, chasing the birds as they flew overhead, and trying to catch the fireflies that lit the night sky. We can’t imagine all the pain and suffering she went through at Ridglan that led to this outcome, and she deserved so much more. But while her freedom was cut far too short, we can hold onto knowing we made the last few weeks of her life full of nothing but unconditional love.” 🐶🪽🌈

ADOPTION ANNOUNCEMENT 📣🐶✨ Herman has found his forever family!

Just two months ago, this sweet boy was rescued from Ridglan Farms. Nearly everything in his world was brand new—sunshine, grass beneath his paws, fresh air, and the love of a family.

Now, Herman has found the perfect home. With two confident beagles, Trigger and Olive, by his side, he has wonderful role models helping him feel safe and discover all the joys of being a dog.

Here’s what his new mom shared with us:

“Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough. We are so incredibly grateful for him and for the gift you’ve given our family. In less then just two short weeks, he has made so much progress, and it has been such a joy to watch him experience so many ‘firsts.’

I’m sending a few pictures of him enjoying some of those moments—his first taste of a little ice cream, playing with toys, exploring, and simply learning what it means to be loved and safe. Watching him gain confidence a little more each day has been amazing.

Thank you for believing he deserved a second chance and for trusting us to be his family. We promise to spend the rest of his life making up for everything he missed during the first eight years. He is so deeply loved, and we can’t imagine our home without him.” 🥹

SAFE FROM A KILL PEN 🎉 Meet the newest members of the Freedom Fields family: Dorthy, Clancy, and Betty. 🤍🐴

Dorthy and Betty, two gentle mules, and Clancy, a sweet donkey, have officially been rescued and are finally safe.

These three were saved from a kill pen—a place where horses, donkeys, and mules are held after being purchased at auction, often by buyers who intend to sell them for slaughter if they aren’t rescued in time. For many animals, a kill pen is their last stop before being shipped across the border to slaughterhouses. 💔

But that won’t be Dorthy, Clancy, or Betty’s story.

Instead of facing an uncertain fate, they’re beginning a brand-new chapter at Freedom Fields, where they’ll spend the rest of their lives exactly as they deserve: loved, cared for, and free to roam wide open pastures without fear. 🌾❤️
