Jackson senior Landon Thiel is the Division I Pitcher of the Year; Hoover senior Jack Andes is the Division II Co-Player of the Year; Tuslaw's Dave Burkett is the Division V Coach of the Year; and Lake Center Christian senior Luke Heckert is the Division VI Player of the Year, while junior teammate Grant Coblentz is the D6 Pitcher of the Year. Watch Ohio High School Sports Live on NFHS Network all year Thiel, an Ohio State recruit and MLB Draft prospect, went 6-0 with 0.95 ERA for the Polar Bears. The 6-foot-7 lefty struck out 101 batters in 44 innings as Jackson shared the Federal League championship and advanced to regionals for a third straight season.
