I think I have a new favorite. There. I said it.

This was an old sleeping bag that I found at savers. The zipper was busted so it was perfect! It did present some challenges but it all worked out.
1) it is pretty thick so l broke a few needles but then eventually bought denim needles so that helped. I also pulled out as much extra batting as I could whenever possible.
2) I still had to hand sew some of the thicker parts but I used embroidery floss so it's actually pretty strong.
3) this was a kids size sleeping bag so it forced me to make a shorter jacket but I'm here for it.
4) I really don't like how ugly the seams inside look with that old grey batting so I might need to cover them with bias tape. TBD.
5) I really wanted to keep some of the zipper so l left it on the top of the pockets.
6) I haven't sewn in my custom label yet!!! That will have to be a separate post. What do you think??

I made a shirt!! I saw this book and thought l'd try it from the library first before buying it but I'm definitely going to buy it.

It's cool bc it comes with some very simple patterns that you can trace and customize. This top can have short sleeves or long sleeves or no sleeves. It can have the ruffle or no ruffle. It can even be a dress. Lots of ways to make it your own! Highly recommend this book if you're interested in learning to make clothes!
