Today we got right to work after settling into the Bed and breakfast the night before.

The participants learned excavation techniques at the Homestead Site as well as how to map findings at a site and how to screen wash sediment. The washed sediment will be picked through later to find tiny fossils.

Nick took participants around to look at the Stratigraphy of Black Mesa!

Oh, and the participants made some new kitty friends at the B&B ☺️

The past few days have been exciting! We took a class at the Museum of Osteology and toured the museum before stopping by the OKC Zoo! SOme of our participants are Zoo staff so it was great to about hear their stories and experiences while we visited! The next day we drove up to Black Mesa State Park, stopping along the way to stock up on groceries. Even the most basic tasks are such fun with this group! They are so amazing!
