💚 July Mental Health Monday Series 💚

Theme: Freedom in Recovery

July 6

Freedom Isn’t Pretending You’re Fine

Independence Day reminds us of freedom, but in recovery, freedom often starts with honesty.

Not the polished kind.
The real kind.

“I’m struggling.”
“I need support.”
“I’m not okay today.”

Freedom is not pretending everything is fine so others feel comfortable.
Freedom is being honest enough to let healing begin.

Some days that looks like texting your Sponsor before you isolate.
Some days it looks like telling your Accountability Partner the truth.
Some days it looks like showing up to a meeting tired, tender, and still willing.

You don’t have to perform wellness.
You are allowed to practice honesty.

✨ Try this today:
Name one thing honestly, even if only to yourself first.

💬 Let’s talk:
Where are you learning to trade pretending for honesty?

💚Mental Health Monday💚
You Are Allowed to Ask for Help

Many of us learned that strength meant handling everything ourselves.
Recovery teaches a different lesson.
Strength isn’t pretending you’re okay.
Strength is being honest when you’re not.

Sometimes healing looks like:
• calling your Sponsor
• texting an Accountability Partner
• asking for prayer
• scheduling a therapy appointment
• admitting you’re struggling

Asking for help doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
It means you’re investing in your healing.

✨ Try this today:
Identify one support person you can reach out to before you actually need them.

💬 Let’s talk:
Who is someone you trust when life feels heavy?

The Celebrate Recovery Confess lesson is important because healing often begins when we stop hiding. It is based on James 5:16, which teaches us to confess our sins to one another and pray for one another so that we may be healed.

Confession is more than admitting wrongdoing—it is bringing struggles, hurts, hang-ups, and habits into the light. Secrets tend to keep people trapped in shame, guilt, and isolation, while honest confession to God and trusted people opens the door to forgiveness, accountability, and freedom.

Join us next Tuesday, 6/9, as Sherry leads us through the CONFESS lesson!

CR Dinner 5:30 - (Ravioli meal, salad and bread)
