Some design friends and I have started a project called Listen to Me. The objective is to remind people that everyone’s voice is valid and should be listened to. We are also trying to make this project as accessible as possible. One way we are doing this is by including a written description of the illustrations in the captions of each post. The descriptions help those who are visually impaired are able to use technology that can read the caption to them giving them a sense of what the picture looks like.

My first illustration was inspired by amazing black women who are unapologetically themselves. The world constantly tries to put women in a box and even more so with women of color. This needs to change, let’s listen to their voices.
