There's a six pointed star floating inside one of these sapphires. It only appears when the light hits it at the right angle, and it moves when you tilt the stone. It's called asterism, and in person it stops you cold.

That's just one stone in this group. There's also a deep blue natural sapphire, a rich natural ruby, a tourmaline and peridot pairing, and a vivid red ruby composite. Every natural stone comes with its own GIA report.

All up for bid July 9.

This is wild. That's Vol. 1, No. 1. The actual first issue of National Geographic, printed in October 1888, just months after the Society was founded. 🤯

Before the yellow border even existed, the magazine looked like this, brown and red paper covers, dense scholarly writing, no photography on the cover at all. It's a piece of publishing history.

Estate Treasures 85 has an incredible range of National Geographic issues going up for bid, and seeing them side by side really shows how much the magazine evolved. From that first 1888 issue, to a rare January 1902 edition, to bundles from the 1900s and 1910s, all the way up to modern issues with the bright yellow border you'd recognize instantly today.

Whether you're a collector chasing a specific year, a history lover, or just someone who appreciates seeing over a century of design change in one place, there's something here for you.

Pre-bidding is open now for Estate Treasures 85.

A standout from our upcoming Estate Treasures 84 auction, this stunning 2010 Fiji Taku $2 Silver Coin combines the beauty of fine silver with elegant gold gilding.

Struck in 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver, the design features the iconic Hawksbill sea turtle, revered throughout the Pacific as a symbol of endurance, wisdom, and longevity. Selective gold gilding accentuates the intricate details of the turtle, creating a striking contrast against the brilliant silver fields.

With a limited mintage of just 5,000 pieces, this example is individually numbered #1373, making it an appealing acquisition for both numismatists and precious metal collectors.

This coin is just one of 121 lots featured in Estate Treasures 84: Antiques, Art, Silver, Decor & More.
