Dawann meant so much to so many here in Hampton Roads and across Virginia. He had an easy smile, a good head on his shoulders like he was wise beyond his years, and an optimism and strength that he shared with others around him. Dawann will be missed immensely even as his legacy lives on.

Our office is deeply saddened to share the passing of our Chief of Staff, Dawann Steagall Jr., after a courageous battle with cancer. Dawann was more than a member of our office, he was a brother and family to our team.

We ask that you keep his loved ones in your prayers as we honor his life, his service, and the lasting impact he made on our office, the community and the Commonwealth.
