Leather, sterling, or gemstones:

I often will wear an amulet or talisman, less out of superstition than out of the sense of peace, protection, empowerment certain pieces align me with on a given day. My tattoos include a Queen/Pharaoh Nefertiti and a lovely, compelling mermaid. I once owned (and lost) a novel, sterling Bastet ring. Honestly, any of the collection of pieces I wear can a centering effect on me.

Today, I wore my ankh necklace to a discussion about managing difficult feelings and triggers. Later in the day, I noticed an old labrys charm from young adulthood sitting on my alter. I think I’ll cleaning up and put it back into use!

“The double-headed axe or labrys …was an important symbol of the Minoan religion in ancient Crete and associated with goddesses. In the 1970s, the labrys became a symbol of women’s empowerment, particularly for lesbians.” Phm.org.uk
