Amores Farm

As we were getting everything ready for The Roaming Gypsie Tripe Crown Show today, I realized I never posted about our last show 3 weeks ago…. life has been hectic to say the least.
We had a great time at SCDGA Dairy Goat Show in Costa Mesa. We loved the judges, the weather was perfect and it was nice to be out showing with friends. This was our 1st show of the season and the highlight was our Senior Kid Amores Farm FW Firefly Love (Fire Whiskey x Mystic Love) was Junior Grand Champion under judge Sam Stokes! Another highlight of the show was me being in the ring with my boys (I haven’t shown since 2019). I’m always the ring side help and photographer, so no photos of the 2 & 3 year olds as I was in the ring but there are a couple pics that our friends took and sent to me (I love those!!). The competition here in Southern California is fierce and I was just in awe of all the beautiful goats at the show.
Here is a photo dump of the day, a day we won’t forget as Laz by the grace of God is still here with us. On our way home our trailer lights went out and Laz pulled off the road to fix them. Just as he got them fixed and was getting ready to get back in the truck our trailer was hit by a car (they didn’t stop) and they just barely missed hitting Laz. Talk about a horrifying experience. We were quite shook up for days after that.

Today was a special day for us! We welcomed Laz’s heart horse back home. Laz bought this Andalusian mare back in 2016 when she was a green 2 year old and she was his project and he did all her training himself. As a family we quickly all fell in love with her and we got to enjoy some really good years with her. During that time she gave us a beautiful c**t and later a spicy filly. Five years ago the goats became our priority and we decided to sell the horses. We’ve always deeply regretted letting Storm go, but she went to an amazing home were she was very well taken care off, ridden and loved so much. We’ve thought about Storm often through the years so when her owner called to share they are moving out of the country and if we would be interested in having her back we couldn’t believe it. We feel so blessed that we were able to make it happen and to have her back. Storm’s love for Laz is still strong and as you can see in the video in her stall here, it’s like they never skipped a bit.
Fancy is in labor and her yearling daughter Amores Farm FW Manhattan Love is keeping her company. Manhattan and Fancy are two peas in a pod and are always together.
