Finally feeling good enough after the shoulder surgery to get back into the swing of things. Repaired another previous fix that failed on a John Deere 553 front end loader. Hydraulic lift cylinder sheared its mount (again) while fighting the fires a few weeks ago. Pieced it back together and cut a fish plate around the pin bushing to reinforce it all.
Fought porosity all the way through but finally got some clean metal put in. Turned out great for a second field repair. JD wants $4500 for a replacement mast that has to be welded in. I guarantee my work and am 100% confident that this will outlast the rest of the loader. Give me a call for any equipment repairs needed!
