The Explorers worked hard, gave it everything they had and it paid off! They competed in multiple events over the course of Friday and Saturday against 43 other Law Enforcement agencies from across the country. We can not emphasize enough how proud we are of them.

2nd Place - Unknown Trouble
1st Place - Domestic Violence
1st Place - Accident Investigation
1st Place - Burglary in Progress
1st Place - Active Shooter

And to top it all off, we received a brand new award….

“Top Law Enforcement Post” for the highest scoring Law Enforcement Post for WinterFest 2026!

Thank you to the Explorers, for dedicating your own time to prepare for this competition. Your work ethic, team spirit and desire to learn played a huge role in the awards that you earned!

Thank you to the parents and guardians for allowing us the opportunity to teach these young men and women what Law Enforcement is all about.

Thank you to the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office for sponsoring Explorer Post 700, and for unwavering support over the years.

And a big thank you to the supporters of Post 700. Your words, comments, donations, etc. have helped provide critical training tools and kept this momentum going!

This week, our Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office Explorers had the opportunity to learn defensive tactics taught by Deputy Burford and Sgt. Bryant.

These skills are designed to keep them safe and confident while preparing them for real-world situations they may face in law enforcement careers. We are proud of the hard work and dedication our Explorers show each week as they continue building knowledge, confidence, and professionalism.

A big thank you to Deputy Burford and Sgt. Bryant for sharing their experience and taking the time to invest in the next generation of law enforcement.
