Automatic negative thoughts can be disruptive and upsetting to those who experience them. Sometimes we are unaware that they may be impacted by things such as our daily pile up of experiences, years of negative experiences with others that impact our image of self, body sensations such as hunger or fatigue, as well as feeling lonely or a gloomy day may increase their appearance.
Today we want to remind you that your thoughts sometimes aren't always the most accurate way to think about yourself. Our thoughts can change but sometimes they feelings they come with are more difficult to manage.
Remember the three R's
Recognize - recognize that this might be a negative way we are thinking about ourselves and this might just be an old habit. Sometimes we can identify them by the thought ("I'm not good enough") or the emotion that comes with them.
Regroup - These feelings can come in like a storm and upset our day. We can take a few minutes or use the coping skills we know to better help settle our mind so that we can do the next step of...
Redirect - Redirecting our thoughts to something more positive, more realistic, or something else all together may limit the time we spend with our automatic negative thoughts and change the pattern of distress that may come with them.

Today we ask you to be skeptical of some of your negative thoughts and don't help them ruin your day.
