Congratulations to Newton Public Library’s jigsaw puzzle champions, The Nickels! This team completed a 1,000-piece puzzle in just 1 hour, 27 minutes, 50 seconds!

Second place went to the Go-Go Moms in 1:57:44, and in third we had Siebert & Ernie in 2:23:54. We’ll post more photos Monday. Thanks to all 19 teams that participated!

Next Saturday (7/18) at 11:30AM grab a book to read in a comfortable, relaxed environment with trained therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers, or just get some doggie snuggles. All ages. No registration required. Don't miss out on hanging out with some furry friends.

Newton Public Library has a beautiful display of Staff Picks that we update regularly. Our staff read a variety of genres, so you're sure to find something you like! It's a great way to try new books and explore outside your comfort zone because you can trust us to find a good read. 😉

There's still time to join our MadSkillz event that starts today at 3PM for ages 10-18! Crews will be created, teamwork will be tested, skills will be shown and excitement will ensue! Work together to race against your fellow players as you figure out the puzzles, use your creativity and show off your Mad Skillz. Happy Faces Entertainment (of Kansas City) is hosting this event. Invite your friends and get ready for a fun afternoon of healthy competition!

Join Stanford Spokes at Newton Public Library on Monday, July 27th for a Learning Festival! The event is from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Registration is open for middle school aged teens.

Workshops: physics with bottle rockets, DNA from strawberries, building paper circuits, and building sustainable buildings with marshmallows and pasta. Each workshop is designed to be 30-45 minutes.

Lunch will be provided. If you have all food allergens, please let us know in advance. If an attendee is concerned about the library accommodating food allergy requirements, we do encourage those individuals to bring their own lunch.
