We are thrilled to have Leslie Thatcher, Director, College Success at Perkins School for the Blind as moderator for the When College Is Your Next Step: Get Ready for Success panel this Saturday.
Leslie Thatcher is an educational consultant and founding Director of College Success @ Perkins. At Thatcher Education, she helps students and their families chart out next steps with confidence through college counseling, high school planning, tutoring, career and interest exploration, and executive functioning coaching.
Different Choices also welcomes Ferne Bork from Landmark College, Dr. Suzanne Jones from Queensborough CC, Bernadette Burke from Hampshire College, Kristin McInerney from The College Experience and CareerNext, and Dayna Mann from Dearborn Academy to the panel. This panel will also include a recent Dearborn graduate who will speak to their experience.

Alex is the Dean of Admissions, Transition Programs, and Strategic Outreach at Beacon College.
Shortly after joining Beacon from the private school sector, Alex designed Navigator PREP, the country’s first virtual transition-to-college program for students and parents in an effort to proactively address the executive functioning, social, and emotional regulation deficits that impede on college success.
Alex has presented nationally and internationally on topics such as systemic barriers in higher education for students with learning disabilities, family systems theory, and strategies to improve transitional outcomes for at-risk students.
Recently, Alex was identified among the Top 100 Educational Leaders in America by the Global Forum for Education and Learning. He holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling where he focused on adjustment disorders for students with learning differences entering college environments.
