Washington Square Academy

A microschool is a small, student-centered learning community designed to provide personalized attention, flexible teaching, and accelerated learning opportunities. At Washington Square Academy, our size is our strength! Every student is seen, supported, and academically challenged.
Why a microschool?
* Starting off strong, and most on the nose, smaller classroom sizes. Smaller classes mean focused academic assistance and accessible support for each student.
* Secondly, customized curriculums ensure each child moves at their own pace, whether they need extra support or more challenge.
* Our community-centric learning at WSA creates a safe, close-knit environment where students thrive academically as well as socially by engaging in programs with the local community.
If you’ve been looking for a school that combines academic rigor with emotional and professional development, WSA is here for your family.
📅 First day of school is September 2nd. Don't worry, there’s still time to join our community!

💡Let’s finish strong! As we enter into this last week of exams at Washington Square Academy, we have a few tips and small habits to get us through this final push!
1. Give your old exams one last look over. Not only is it a good review for content, but it also familiarizes you with testing formats. You will have a better idea of what to expect and what the teacher is looking for in the answers!
2. Talk out theories with your parents or friends. Saying something out loud reaffirms the idea in your brain, and sometimes helps you develop a deeper understanding of the concept itself!
3. Ask your teachers for their tips! We are building a community here at WSA. We teach our students to ask questions, BE CURIOUS, and engage with the world around them. That includes their teachers, who - believe it or not - were once students, too!
4. Organize your space. Organizing the world around provides calm for the space in your head. There is less ‘clutter’ to distract you, inside and out.
5. Eat some brain food. Did you know there is food out there to promote brain productivity? Grab some blueberries and trail mix before your last study session, and a protein-packed meal before exams!
6. Get. Your. Sleep! It’s tempting to let anxiety or pressure get the better of you and stay up all night studying, but this is counterintuitive! Your brain is growing, too, and it needs time to recover. Make sure to get your full eight hours, especially the night before your exam!
GOOD LUCK, WSA STUDENTS!
