Yesterday, SWSC graduated 12 international students from its International Department Head and International Division Officer courses. This geographically diverse class included naval officers representing the Philippines, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Colombia, Mexico, Lithuania and more. The guest speaker was Adm. (ret.) Luis Polar, former Commander in Chief of the Peruvian Navy.

Programs like ISWOS are essential for building trust, interoperability, and enduring strategic relationships with our allied and partner nations. By training side-by-side, we establish a shared foundation of tactical knowledge and operational readiness, ensuring our combined naval forces can effectively collaborate to maintain global maritime security.

Yesterday, SWSC Commanding Officer, Capt. Vic Sheldon, held a mentorship session with the future leaders of Department Head Class 288. Transitioning to the role of a Department Head demands extraordinary dedication, characterized by rigorous academic training, tactical mastery, and the proven resilience required to lead Sailors on the deckplates.



Direct engagements like this are invaluable, as they bridge the gap between schoolhouse curriculum and real-world command experience. By sharing hard-earned operational wisdom and expectations, SWSC CO is ensuring these officers are fully prepared to spearhead readiness and execute the mission.
